Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition is probably the most arranged and recorded piece of music to have ever been composed—with over 400 arrangements and well over 1000 recorded performances. Composer and music archivist, David DeBoor Canfield, formed a Pictures at an Exhibition association in 2006 with the aim of compiling a database of known arrangements and recordings and promoting the evolving history of Mussorgsky’s musical idea.
